Forensic science laboratories traditionally prioritize scientific accuracy, analytical reliability, and evidential integrity; however, customer service has become a critical component of modern forensic practice. In forensic science, “customers” include law enforcement agencies, attorneys, judicial officers, victims, and the broader public who rely on timely, objective, and understandable scientific results. This study examines how customer service principles improve forensic service delivery, communication efficiency, case turnaround time, and stakeholder satisfaction within forensic institutions. The research evaluates customer service frameworks tailored to forensic environments, emphasizing professionalism, transparency, clear communication, responsiveness, and ethical accountability. Drawing on qualitative assessments, stakeholder feedback, and operational performance indicators, the study examines how structured client engagement strategies can reduce case backlogs, minimize misinterpretation of forensic findings, and strengthen confidence in forensic evidence presented in court.

This presentation highlights that effective customer service does not compromise scientific independence but instead enhances collaboration between forensic laboratories and investigative partners while preserving impartiality. Integrating service-oriented policies, standardized reporting practices, and ongoing professional training improves organizational performance and reinforces public trust in forensic science systems. It proposes a practical customer service model tailored to forensic laboratories in both developing and developed jurisdictions, with particular relevance to Caribbean forensic systems. The study demonstrates that customer-centered forensic practice supports not only operational excellence but also the broader administration of justice by ensuring that scientific evidence is delivered accurately, efficiently, and responsibly.
