Dionne A. Cruickshank, a qualified Attorney-at-Law and Educator, earned her Bachelor of Laws in 2000 at the London South Bank University, in London, England. She was then admitted to the Bar of England and Wales at Inner Temple in 2004 and the Bar of Jamaica in 2005. Dionne is also a Graduate of Florida Atlantic University, in Palm Beach Florida where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in English in 1994. She obtained Qualified Teacher Status for England in 2003 and holds a Postgraduate Qualification in Forensic Science in 2023, focusing on Crime Scene Investigation from the University of the West Indies. She has practiced at the Criminal Bar representing persons who have been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, shooting with intent and sexual offenses matters. As a teacher in the practice of Law and legal clinician, she teaches students the practice of Law at the Norman Manley Law School Legal Aid Clinic, in Kingston Jamaica. Additionally, she is an adjunct lecturer delivering the module for Legal and Ethical Issues in Forensic Science University of the West Indies, Mona Campus on the Postgraduate Program.
Dionne has a lifelong interest in clinical and experiential legal education with a focus in Criminal Law and Forensic Science, Ethics and Technology specifically Artificial Intelligence, and has participated in numerous conferences seminar and workshops and presented papers at the Jamaica Bar Association Conference, Department of Public Prosecution Empowerment Workshop (Jamaica), Institute for Education Administration leadership Conference (Jamaica), Caribbean Association of Forensic Sciences (CAFS), Association of Law Teachers (England and Wales). In addition to CAFS, Dionne is a member of the Inner Temple (England and Wales), Jamaica Bar Association, Advocates Association (Jamaica), British Research Educational Association, Commonwealth Law Association, International Forensic Science Association and Executive Member of the Association for Law Teachers (England).
